Perception And Reality
Professor Ray keeps telling the class that the second and third Matrix movies could never be successfull the same way that the first was. The first told us that reality, was different from the way that we percieved it. The second and third just ran with this premise, making them good special effect laden action movies.
On the back of my edition of Mrs. Dalloways, Margaret Drabble is quoted as saying
- "Virginia Woolf is one of the few writers who changed life for all of us. Her combination of intellectual courage and painful emotional sensitivity created a new way of perceiving and living in the world."
I think the way books read. I think to myself in language.

People are too loud, never stopping to actually listen to the world around them as it is. That internal dialogue rules the perceived reality, continuously reinforcing personal concerns, beliefs, the ego, and judgements regarding the way the world is. And for as long as it continues repeating over and over in the person's head, things will never change. The cares and worries take up too much attention.
If you stop talking to yourself and listen closely enough, you might actually see the world as it is. That is, if you can get yourself to stop wondering if you're listening correctly, or what it will be like when you see the world as it is.
